Airframes
Airframe Regulations
- Recovering plane is allowed.
- Additional decoration, trim covering, or recovering is encouraged.
- Wing and horizontal stabilizer may not be modified except for reinforcement and to fit aftermarket retracts.
- Wing tips may be modified for planes that are decorated in a scale color scheme, but the wing may not be "clipped".
- Open wing bays may be sheeted or covered.
- Fuselage shape and cross section should be maintained with exception of the canopy and belly pan in the conditions listed below.
- Canopy and vertical stabilizer may be modified to model the Reno P-51 racers.
- The stock belly pan will be required,
except for planes like Stiletto, Color Tile, Galloping Ghost, etc,
that had it removed if the plane is decorated in the scale color scheme.
- Control surface servos must provide at least 80 ounces of torque.
- Minimum ready to fly weight is fourteen (14.0) pounds (6.35 kg)
- Maximum ready to fly weight is eighteen (18.0) pounds (8.17 kg)
Propulsion System Regulations
- Engines will be gasoline burning 2 cycle 38cc displacement or less with reed valve induction.
- Engines must have a spark plug and no glow plug conversions are allowed.
- Engines may be modified except for addition of supercharging or turbocharging.
- Engines may have aftermarket mufflers, tuned pipes, or velocity stacks.
- Any size of prop may be used and props may be modified.
- Any type of fuel system may be used.
- Contestants must provide their own fuel which may only contain gasoline and oil.
Courses to be used
- 660' 2 pole course.
- 900' 2 pole course.
